This time last year, Bryan Reynolds was in the midst of a career year with the Pirates. Now, it looks like he's on the precipice of being dealt.

And although the 27-year-old hasn't quite been able to recreate his success from last season, he remains a valuable player who would be of use to a playoff contender.
With a .911 OPS since the start of July, Reynolds has been raking. However, a playoff appearance seems unlikely for the Pirates, who sit at 40-58. A player of Reynolds' caliber certainly has the talent to play in October.
There are some extenuating factors to Reynolds' availability. He inked a two-year extension with the Bucs in April. That makes Reynolds more than just a rental, meaning Pittsburgh will be looking for more assets for its star player.

So, which teams would suit Reynolds best? The Sporting News examines four teams rumored to be interested in the Baltimore native.

There are some holes, to be clear. The fielding in the outfield is less than ideal, especially with Schwarber and Nick Castellanos serving as starting corner outfielders.
Reynolds isn't quite a defensive savant. But he's a consistent presence in the lineup. Here comes the wild card…literally. A year after missing out on the playoffs by one game, Seattle is in prime position to nab its first postseason appearance since 2001.
The M's are coming off the heels of a 14-game winning streak, have a budding superstar in Julio Rodriguez and are just generally a good team playing an exciting brand of baseball. Why not add to that?
