Mumbai, June 15, 2017: India’s leading in-vitro diagnostic company, Transasia Bio-Medicals Ltd. is proud to be the principal partner of the 4th Annual Conference of APPI- Mumbai scheduled from 16-18 June, 2017 at Renaissance Convention Centre Hotel, Mumbai. The annual conference hosted by the Association of Practicing Pathologists of India (APPI) is a conglomeration of industry experts from across the country.

This year, Transasia has taken its participation to a whole new level in line with the introduction of new products and processes that provide an end-to-end solution for improved lab efficiency.
Sysmex XN-330, the latest six part differential hematology analyzer will be formally introduced at the event. This will be beneficial to laboratories as it offers the latest technology at an affordable cost. Besides, Transasia is also organizing interactive scientific sessions and workshops led by experienced industry veterans in Hematology, Biochemistry and Coagulation. This will provide an important forum for practicing pathologists and lab owners to engage in a dialogue about critical compliance and operational challenges. This will also open the doors for further discussions on the best practice approaches for addressing those challenges.
On 17th June, Dr. Barnali Das, Consultant- Biochemistry & Immunology, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai will be conducting a workshop on ‘Lean Six Sigma-How to cut the extra flab from your lab platter.’ The workshop exclusively hosted by Transasia, encompasses adoption of verification/validation protocol and Lean-Six Sigma to reduce errors and improve the lab efficiency. It will prove to be beneficial to laboratories as Lean Six-Sigma system can help labs achieve a number of objectives- reduce time traps, eliminate non-value-added steps, focus on the value added steps, and reduce complexity in the workflow process.
Dr. Das who holds a Green Belt in Six Sigma has already conducted this workshop as American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) University’s short course in 2015 & 16. Infact the course was identified as the Best AACC course to be circulated in the Middle East and other countries.
Further during the day, Transasia will host a session on Middleware by Mr. S. Parthasarthy, CEO, CareData. This will focus on cloud base lab management system that efficiently scale up lab operations, improve TAT and help provide clinically accurate reports on time.
Day three of the conference will witness a motivational session on ‘A meaningful, fulfilled life’ by Dr. R. K. Anand, Emeritus Director, Dept. of Pediatrics, Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. Dr. Anand is the senior-most pediatrician, author, researcher, teacher and crusader. As a former professor, he has worked tirelessly for the protection of children’s nutrition rights, for breast feeding healthcare practices and for research on infant feeding. Dr. Anand has worked with doyens in the field of pediatrics all over the world including Prof. R. S. Illingworth, U.K. and Dr. Waldo E. Nelson, U.S.A.He was the first pediatrician from India to ensure that the country has a strong code of marketing of milk formulas, feeding bottles, teats and pacifiers. His book Guide to Childcare, a national bestseller was considered by La Leche League International as the most breastfeeding –friendly book. Dr. Anand is a winner of the ‘Soul of Breastfeeding Award’ by World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action.
Further, Dr. (Col.) Dr. Jyoti Kotwal, Sr. Consultant- Hematology & Clinical Pathology at Sir Gangaram Hospital will be addressing the gathering on Futuristic Trends in Hematology. The focus of the workshop is to introduce new trends to the hematologists.
