The six pitchers who combined to throw nine no-hit innings against the Red Sox on Saturday mostly fit that description: They're random relievers, and almost all of them throw hard.

And they didn't have much success in their prevMookie Betts ious organizations, which is why they were available to the Rays. But they just put together one of the best "bullpen games" ever.

AgJose Altuvee: 29
How acquired: Trade with Brewers, 2021

Feyereisen threw two perfect innings in his second "start" of the year. The outing extended his season–opening scoreless streak to 7 1/3 innings. The Rays acquired him with Drew Rasmussen in the Willy Adames trade last May and then made him a key member of their bullpen. He had three saves and allowed one earned run over his first 16 appearances. But he also missed more than a month in July and August with shoulder discomfort.

Javy Guerra

Age: 26
How acquired: Purchased by Rays, 2022

Tampa Bay is known for trying to devMLB iPhone Accessories elop two-way players. Guerra isn't one, but he is a converted shortstop. The Padres put him on the mound in 2019, four years after acquiring him from the Red Sox in the Craig Kimbrel trade. He wasn't very good for San Diego; he posted an 8.46 ERA in 27 games. The Rays got him on April 16, four days after the Padres designated him for assignment. He retired the first two batters in the third inning Saturday but then ran into trouble with a walk and an error.

Jeffrey Springs

Age: 29
How acquired: Trade with Red Sox, 2021

Springs was summoned to face Rafael Devers in a lefty-lefty matchup in the third. He retired Devers on an infield popup and then got five more outs. Springs showed little in parts of three seasons with the Rangers and Red Sox (5.42 ERA, 1.70 WHIP in 84 2/3 innings), but he has a 2.96 ERA in 50 games with Tampa Bay and has thrown seven scoreless frames with nine strikeouts this year.

Jason Adam

Age: 30
How acquired: Signed as a free agent, 2022

Adam had major league stints with the Royals, Blue Jays and Cubs from 2018-21. He posted a 4.71 ERA over 78 1/3 innings. He became a free agent last November and signed a one-year contract with the Ra atlanta braves jersey number 11 ys on March 17. He has yet to allow a hit in 5 1/3 innings of relief, although he has given up a run.

Ryan Thompson

Age: 29
How acquired: Rule 5 Draft, 2018

He returned in 2019 and opened a few games in Double-A. The sidearmer debuted in the majors with the Rays in 2020 and has since become a serviceable setup arm. He is coming back from September thoracic outlet surgery.

Andrew Kittredge

Age: 32
How acquired: Trade with Mariners, 2016

Kittredge became the main player in one of the recent trades between Tampa Bay and Seattle.
