Monday features a 10-game MLB DFS main slate on FanDuel, DraftKings, and Yahoo. We have a very interesting crop of daily fantasy studs on the mound, including Sandy Alcantara, Aaron Nola, and Alek Manoah. We also have a cheap value sleeper in Zack Thompson making his first career start after notching a 30-percent K-rate in Triple-A this season.
On the offensive side of things, the top stacks of the day include the Blue Jays, Twins, and Astros. Today's MLB DFS Playbook: Lineup picks, tips for Monday
SP Alek Manoah, Blue Jays (vs. Orioles). Where did the strikeout upside go? He’s not missing bats right now outside of one start against the Angels. In five of his past six starts, he’s struck outMLB Accessories five or fewer batters. He’s so good at limit atlanta braves jersey men large ing damage, however, he has still been extremely consistent on the fantasy front. He also has arguably the best offense in the league behind him, so run support isn’t much of an issue. He profiles more as a cash game guy than a GPP play in current form, but over the past two weeks, it’s worth noting Baltimore has a 24.4-percent K-rate, so the door is open for him to have a big strikeout game.
SP Brady Singer, Royals (@ Giants). Do you know who’s offense has been in a major rut? San Francisco’s. It's 21st in OPS over the past two weeks and 26th over the past week. The Giants are striking out a lot over that span, too, notching a 25-percent K-rate over the past two weeks. Enter Singer, who’s been thrown to the wayside by most fantasy owners but has been decent since re-entering the teams' rotation in May. He’s flashed a bunch of strikeout upside, too, notching a 24.4-perent K-rate as a starter, which is higher than his 23-percent K-rate as a reliever. He didn’t flash massive upside his past two starts, but those outings were against the Blue Jays and Astros.
C Austin Nola, Padres (@ Cubs). Throughout his career leading up to this year, Nola has been quite good against lefthanded pitching. Including this season, he has a .747 OPS for his career against southpaws and he’s very cheap and works in a Padres stack, too.
1B Matt Olson, Braves (@ Nationals). I know Josiah Gray has been better since changing up his pitch mix, but lefties are still crushing baseballs against him, hitting eight HRs with a .600 SLG andMLB Cooperstown Collection .424 wOBA against Gray this year. Enter Olson, who homered on Sunday and, although he’s struggled a bit, hasn’t struggled with RHP. He has a .370 wOBA against them.
2B Cavan Biggio, Blue Jays (vs. Orioles). I mean, yeah, Biggio has been pretty good lately. He's hit .321 with a .951 OPS over his past 10 games. Kyle Bradish has really struggled this year, pitching to a 6.45 ERA while allowing a .301 BAA and 10 HRs in eight starts.
3B Alex Bregman, Astros (@ Rangers). Maybe the season is turning around for Bregman? He’s riding a five-game hitting streak and has two straight games with an extra-base hit, which hasn’t been the case most of this season. Bregman is 4-for-10 off Taylor Hearn, and righties have great numbers off of him.
SS J.P. Crawford, Mariners (vs. Twins). Crawford has been really good atlanta Christian Yelichbraves signed jersey against righthanded pitching this year, hitting .349 with a .401 wOBA. Crawford’s a solid price and fits best in a Mariners stack.
OF Jordan Luplow, Diamondbacks (vs. Reds). The D-backs are leading Luplow off in this spot against a lefty. Luplow has hit lefties well, notching a .334 wOBA against them with four HRs in 35 at-bats this season. He's only a GPP play on this slate.
