Phillies manager Joe Girardi argued that call and was ejected. Girardi yelled at Cabrera as he returned to the dugout, which drew a response from Cardinals manager Mike Shildt.

Harper was hitless in two at-bats before being hit. He left the game batting .321 for the season with six home runs and 10 RBIs.
Matt Joyce came on to run for Harper and scored the go-ahead run later in the inning.
