MLB commissioner Rob Manfred canceled the first two series of the 2022 season as a result of the ongoing, owner-iREEFmposed MLB lockout. The decision has displaced thousands of workers who depend on working baseball games as a means of employment.

The MLBPA announced on Friday morning that its players are launching a $1 million fund to benefit workers hurt by the lockout.
“This fund is intended to support workers who are most affected by the MLB-imposed lockout but whose livelihoods have been disregarded by the owners in their effort to pressure Players into accepting an unfair deal,” MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said in a statement.

“There are a lot of people who make our game great,” MLBPA executive board leaders Andrew Miller and Max Scherzer said Thursday in a joint statement. “Many aren’t seen or heard, but they atlanta braves big and tall are vital to the entertainment experience of our games. Unfortunately, they will also be among those affected by the owner-imposed lockout and the cancellation of games.
