The Nationals have enough money for a 15-year extension, but not a charter flight, apparently.
Juan Soto recently rejected a 15-year, $440 million contract extension, reports say.

Juan Soto had to fly on a commercial flight and wait in an airport for two hours and get here at 1:30 in the morning and have to compete in the Home Run Derby. Obviously, it's not a great look for the Nationals to not take care of their lone All-Star, and any hopes of repairing the seemingly frayed relationship look to be out the window, along with their hopes of contention in the near future.
