Javier Baez says Mets' thumbs

Javier Baez and other Mets players are tired of hearing boos from New York fans.

So they've decided to send a message right back. In the fourth inning of the team's 9-4 win over the Nationals on Sunday, Baez hit a two-run home run  atlanta braves game jersey and, upon crossing home plate, gave a thumbs-down gesture. Mets president Sandy Alderson said in a statement Sunday night that Baez's comments and the thumbs-down gesture were "totally unacceptable" and "will not be tolerated."

The players and the organization are equally frustrated, but fans at Citi Field have every right to express their own disappointment. Booing is every fan’s right," Alderson said.
