Pressly was still displeased with his eje gray atlanta braves jersey ction despite the team's victory. He said that he believed the warning was unwarranted. He maintained he simply missed with his pitch.
"I guess we're not allowed to pitch inside in the big leagues anymore," Pressly told reporters, per Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle. "I’m human. I will miss inside. To warn me after something like that and to throw me out after questioning it, you have to be better than that.”
What irked Pressly the most was the insinuation that he had purposely thrown at Taylor.
"[Carapazza said] he thought I was doing it intentionally," Pressly said, per Fox 26's Mark Berman. "I didn't know that he could read my mind. That's what set me off."
"There was nobody else getting warned in that game," he added, perhaps referring to Astros batters Yordan Alvarez and Jeremy Pena being hit by pitches earlier in the game. Indeed, it is difficult to understand why the umpires thought Pressly's pitch was intentional. The Astros were up by four runs and were an out away from closing out the victory.
