We're five days into the 2022 MLB season and already storylines have emerged. They're not necessarily based in reality, but they've emerged.

Let's explore some early-season overreactions.

1. The Dodgers are disappointing. LA is 1-2 after three games against the Rockies. THE ROCKIES. This supposed super-team is more of a super-letdown. Meanwhile …

2. Freddie Freeman's best days are clearly behind him. He's batting just .167 and his bWAR is "-". That's horrendous. He went just 2-for-12 in the opening series against the Rockies. LA must regret giving him that contract. But speaking of the Rockies …

3. Colorado is 3-1 and ready to shock the world. Everyone expected the Rockies to be bad, even after the signing of Kris Bryant. But if th atlanta braves jersey for dogs ey can take two of three from the supposedly mighty Dodgers, the rest of the NL better watch out. Staying in the NL West …

4. The Padres are what we thought the Dodgers would be. San Diego is 4-1 and atop the division after a strong showing in its first five games. And this is without Fernando Tatis Jr. Oh, boy. What a monster team this will be.

5. TheMLB Player Tee Shirts Angels haven't changed at all. Even with Shohei Ohtani, a healthy Mike Trout, a healthy Anthony Rendon and a rotation bolstered by the arrival of Noah Syndergaard, the 2-3 Angels remain a just-below-.500 team. Just like always. So much for optimism. One more thing about the Angels …

6. Shohei Ohtani's historic 2021 was a mirage. So far this season, he's 0-1 on the mound and his ERA (1.93) is higher than his batting average (.143). He even struck out three times against the Astros on Saturday. He seems human after all. Maybe we hyp atlanta braves jersey men l ed him too much. So disappointing.

7. The Yankees are just as inconsistent as their fans feared they'd be. They're 2-2 after four games atlanta braves jersey youth xl , literally the definition of inconsistent. Giancarlo Stanton's on-base percentage is .294 and Aaron Judge has no homers. That's not gonna cut it. Staying in the AL East …

8. The Blue Jays are everyone's new favorite team. They seem almost literally unstoppable. And they're just so much fun. Did you see the crowd's reaction after that replay review Friday night? Wow. This team will single-handedly make baseball North America's favorite sport.

9. The World Series champion Braves are bad again. Who didn't see that coming after they fluked their way to a chamMLB Camo Apparel pionship last season? The ghost of Freddie FreemaLevi sn will be their downfall, and Freeman's absence in the lineup and clubhouse is the only explanation for theiMatt Olson Braves Jerseys r ice-cold offense.

10. The Brewers are also bad and sit in last place. And people thought they'd be a World Series contender? Tell me you don't know anything about baseball without telling me you don't know anything about freddie freeman atlanta braves jersey baseball.

11. The Phillies' all-offense approach is working. At 3-1, they lead the NL East over the high-spending Mets after a big comeback Monday night. They've established themselves as the team to beat. Related …

12. The Mets are not living up to expectations. They sit in second place, having blown an easy win Monday against the Phillies. There's nothing new under the sun. Despite Steve Cohen's deep pockets, they're still the Mets.

13. Steven Kwan is the leading Rookie of the Year and MVP candidate, and is possibly the greatest hitter of all time. It's almost impossible to get him out. He went 5-for-5 Sunday against the Royals, and he still hasn't swung and missed. He leads MLB in nearly every hitting category that matters. All offensive records could be in danger. On the other side of the rookie coin …

14. Bobby Witt Jr. was probably called up too soon. He's just 2-for-16 (.125) and he's only walked once. Yikes. Overmatched much? There's a reason why teams usually don't put their hyped rookies on the Opening Day roster. Think, people!

15. The Red Sox are plummeting in the AL East and are tied with the Orioles for fourth place (or last place, if you want to look at it that way). A promising season has turned sour. What can Trevor Story even do to help at this point?

16. The AL Central is the strongest division in baseball. Every single team is at .500 or better. Or, the pessimistic view: The AL Central is the most mediocre division in baseball. Four of the five teams are at .500, and the White Sox are just one game over. Boring.

17. The Rays are still the Rays and still elite. Despite not being favored in the AL East, there they are in first place again. Forget the Blue Jays. Forget the Yankees. The Rays are the real deal. You just can't beat smart baseball teams.

But seriously: As always, be skeptical of what you see in April, especially early April, and especially after a condensed spring training. Pretty much everything on this list, positive and negative, will self-correct before too long. But that doesn't mean baseball won't use its powers to make us irrational in the meantime.
