Doug Gottlieb recants accusation on Freddie Freeman Braves contract offer: 'Simply got i atlanta braves jersey women t wrong'

Doug Gottlieb claimed Freddie Freeman's agent didn't tell him about a final offer from the Braves in a tweet back in June.

Months after Freeman's former agent, Casey Close, and agency, Excel Sports Management, filed a libel lawsuit against Gottlieb, tMLB Cooperstown Collectionhe Fox Sports Radio host is fully reDerek Jeter canting his tweet.

Gottlieb issued a statement on Wednesday, stating that he "prematurely reported" on the events around the claim that Close withheld an offer from Freeman, atlanta braves gray jersey and said he "simply got it wrong."

"Upon further vetting of my sources, a review of the lawsuit filed against me in this matter, and a direct conversation with Casey himself, I have learned that the conduct I alleged did not occur and that there is no credible basis for stating that it did," Gottlieb wrote.

My ultimate investigation into this matter confirms that Casey Close did, in fact, communicate all offers to Freddie Freeman and the sources I relied on were incorrect, in no uncertain terms. Close released the following statement through ExcMLB Polo Shirtsel Sports Management:

"From theJuan Soto onset, we were clear that Mr. Gottlieb's tweet was wholly inaccurate anMLB Car Accessoriesd that we would seek legal remedies to set the record straight. He has retracted his statement atlanta braves jersey olson in its entirety and acknowledged that he got the story wrong. We consider this matter closed."

According to FrontOfficeSports' A.J. Perez, there was, as of the statement, no motion to dismiss the lawsuit filed.

Back on June 29, Gottlieb wrote in a tweet that Close, who had just been fired as F atlanta braves mitchell ness jersey reeman's agent, didn't tell him about a final offer from the Braves, and that Freeman had only found out about it when he was in Atlanta to face the Braves. Gottlieb said it wasn't rare to happen, but that it did, and that Close knew Freeman would have taken the deal from the Braves.

It did not take long for Close to respond with legal action. On July 14, Close and Excel Sports Management filed a lawsuit against Gottlieb, claiming that the radio host "falsely and recklessly publicized" on Twitter that Close never told Freeman about the offer, hurting Close's and Excel's names, businesses and reputations.

The lawsuit stated the Braves were asked if they had a final offer for Close after several offers were rejected by both sides, and that on March 12, discussions ended between the two sides. Five days later, Freeman signed his six-year, $162 million deal with the Dodgers.
