Marlins pitcher Mookie Betts Daniel Castano had to leave his stFernando Tatis Jr. art against the Reds in Cincinnati in the first inning Thursday after he was struck in the head by a liGeorge Springer ne drive off the bat of Donovan Solano.

The drive, which Baseball Savant measured at 104.3 mph, bounced off Castano's hat and was caught by third baseman Joey Wendle on the fly for an out. Castano stayed on his knees at the mound for some time before he was able to walk to the duMLB Player Tee Shirts gout under his own power.

As Castano was being tended to by the training staff, Solano waited along the first-base line before approaching him.

Castano told reporters after the game he was feeling better but was also "a little tired" and "a little out of it."

"It just kind of went black for a second," Castano said. "It wasn't a whole lot, kind of came to and everyone was around me. Think the first thing I asked was, 'Did we get the out?' The Marlins announced after the game Castano had suffered a forehead contusion and a mild concussion.

"It’s a little bit scary," Marlins manager Don Mattingly said, according to The Associated Press. "Your biggest fear is damage. He's about as good as could be expected."

Castano has made 10 appearances (seven starts) for the Marlins this season. The left-hander has a 4.04 ERA, 20 strikeouts and nine walks in 35 2/3 innings. He had been promoted from Triple-A on Thursday to start for the Marlins. Miami won the game 7-6.
